Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology Annual Scientific Meeting at the Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre (2011)
I would like to share a career milestone with you.
Last month, I celebrated my 18-year anniversary as an immigrant Australian-Filipino doctor.
The photos above commemorate my greatest achievement in my career when I attended the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology Annual Scientific Meeting at the Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre in 2011.
It was the day when I officially received my certificate as a Fellow of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology (FRANZCR).
I didn’t have my husband Glenn or anyone else when I attended this memorable event in my life and it was a hard decision to leave my family back in Perth.
It would have been extra special if they were there, too. However, this was something very important for me that I didn’t want to miss.
I talk more about this hair-raising moment in my Global Girls book chapter. To learn more about my book, Global Girls: Find Your Thing, click the link below.
Quote from Courage and Confidence: What It Really Takes to Succeed in Business
Being an entrepreneur and a specialist doctor can be very stressful.
It can be emotionally, physically and mentally exhausting, especially when starting out and in the early stages of setting up, planning and building a business.
During my journey, I tend to focus on success, productivity and just trying to thrive and survive while overcoming challenges. There were many ups and downs.
But I decided to invest in myself so I can be a better person, a better parent, a better wife, a better leader to my team and a better doctor.
Starting today, I challenge you to be your inner compassion coach.
For the next twenty-one days, ask yourself this: What are three things I love about myself?
